Physical Facility Overview

The Hardware Testing & Assembly Lab

Located in Wolgot-myeon, Gimpo-si, our dedicated hardware laboratory is engineered specifically for active high-draw compute experiments, thermal interface analysis, and hands-on multi-GPU assembly.

Workstation Engineering & Lab Benches

Each of our six student lab stations is an independent testing environment constructed with antistatic ESD mats, dedicated 220V power metering, dual 1200W/2400W 80-Plus Platinum server power supply breakout fixtures, and high-precision diagnostic tools.

Station Power Distribution

  • Dedicated 16A 220V branch circuits per station
  • Type-B Residual Current Device (RCD) protection
  • Breakout boards with 16AWG pure copper leads
  • Real-time inline digital wattage meters

Diagnostic & Thermal Tooling

  • Digital vernier calipers for 0.01mm pad measurements
  • FLIR handheld infrared thermal imaging cameras
  • K-type thermocouple contact temperature probes
  • True-RMS digital clamp multimeters for 12V rails

Educational Hardware Inventory

To ensure students gain real-world diagnostic intuition without risking their own consumer hardware during initial learning, our lab maintains an extensive inventory of modern and legacy graphics cards, server PSUs, PCIe risers, and motherboard architectures:

  • Graphics Hardware: NVIDIA RTX 30/40 series and AMD Radeon RX 6000/7000 series test cards featuring GDDR6 and GDDR6X memory architectures.
  • PCIe Risers: Version 009S, 010S Plus, and PCIe 4.0 locking x16 riser cards for comparative resistance and signal integrity testing.
  • Power Supplies: HP Common Slot 750W/1200W/1400W Platinum server units, Dell 2400W redundant PSUs, and Seasonic ATX power supplies.
  • Chassis & Cooling: Modular 6-card and 8-card anodized aluminum open-air frames, high-static pressure 120mm server fans (3000+ RPM), and fan speed controllers.

Facility Safety Standards

High-draw electrical systems generate heat and continuous amperage. Our Gimpo lab operates under rigorous safety rules:

  • The 80% Rule: Continuous electrical loads are strictly designed not to exceed 80% of rated circuit capacity.
  • Direct 6-Pin Wiring: Zero tolerance for molded SATA or low-gauge Molex adapters on riser power inputs.
  • Ventilation & CFM Siting: High-volume air exchange ensuring ambient lab temperatures remain below 24°C under full 6-station load testing.
